Cultivated in steep hills and rich volcanic soils, La Cacica is a high-quality Colombian coffee grown by around 100 families from the municipality of Oporapa.
La Cacica is sold only as a Relationship Coffee, a transparent method where all entities involved in the commercialisation of the coffee, from farmers to exporter, to roaster, are fully aware of the costs of the process. This results in trust being developed amongst all parties, and therefore incentives coffee growers to continue improving the quality of their beans.
Established in 1985 with coffee producers with no more than four hectares, the co-operative has been introducing environmentally-friendly growing and processing techniques.
