Finca La Ventaja is situated in the North of Nicaragua near the town Dipilto, close to the Honduran border. Sergio Jose Paguaga Gonzalez was one of the winners of the 2015 Cup Of Excellence of Nicaragua and the winner of the 2016 Los Cafes Mas Finos de Nicaragua. He has ever since improved the quality of his coffee as well as the farm’s infrastructure. The claim and effort are shared with his family who co-own the farm. The more than 30-year-old farm not only hosts different varietals of coffee trees, but also concentrates on biodiversity and the nutrient cycle between plants by growing banana and citrus trees. Dipilto proves to be an ideal setting for coffee farming as it has steep hills, thick forests, and altitude.
